The Field Service Engineer will be based at the Company offices in Aberdeen and will report to the Operations Manager. The job will involve a combination of onshore and offshore working, with the offshore element being on an as and when required basis with trips of 2-7 days. It is expected, but not guaranteed that the total offshore time will be approximately 50 days per year.
The Field Service Engineer will work in the Asset Integrity Management (AIM) group and will have the following Responsibilities:-
•Taking a lead role in diagnosing faults (electrical, hydraulic, and ICT) associated with subsea control systems using a combination of methodical data analysis from the office base coupled with testing / data-collection in the field.
•Installing and commissioning electrical condition monitoring equipment on offshore oil & gas installations in the North Sea and around the globe.
•Conducting electrical integrity tests (including insulation resistance and TDR measurements) on subsea equipment.
•Preparing work-packs and commissioning and test procedures for electrical condition monitoring equipment.
•Conducting offshore site surveys prior to equipment installation.
•Compiling condition monitoring data from offshore installations and producing summary reports for clients
The successful candidate will have Previous Experience in the following areas:-
•Experience of installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment on offshore installations.
•Competence and confidence in working on multi-disciplinary engineering tasks, involving mechanical, electrical/electronic, optical, and software components.
•A broad understanding of the oil and gas exploration and production business.
•Minimum of 3 years’ post-graduate engineering experience, of which a minimum of 1 year will be in offshore engineering.
•Good documentation writing skills.
As a minimum the successful candidate will have the following Qualifications:-
•A degree or HND qualification in Electrical / Electronic engineering.
•17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
•Current offshore survival training certificate. (or the ability and willingness to undergo training if required.)
